I received a rather dubious phone call the other day, which I quickly realised was a marketing ploy, no matter how much they tried to deny it. They began by spinning a tale about a supposedly new recycling discount initiative in my locality, promising homeowners a whopping £2000. But it didn’t take long for them to pivot and pitch their windows and doors instead. Quite frustrating, especially since my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which they seemed to overlook entirely.
