Got a call from a bloke with a really strong Indian accent, said he was Joseph from Guardian TV. He told me I’m paying about £7 a month by direct debit for some insurance and offered to drop it down to £5. Then he asked if I’m still banking with Barclays and wanted to check my bank info. I didn’t give anything away and just said if I’m already paying him, he should have all those details anyway. What do you know, he just ended the call on me! Bit of a laugh really.

Got a call from some pak* cold caller, and I just told them to bugger off.

Just got one of those usual cold calls again, likely trying to trick me with some fake survey. I don't bother with them now; if I don't hear a voice within a few seconds, I hang up immediately and note down the number to pass it on later.

This number rang me earlier today, and the person on the other end spoke with an Indian accent. They insisted my TV was still on and mentioned I was paying more than £7 a month for maintenance, which they said would be dropped to £5. When I told them I don’t pay anything like that, they quickly switched to a Manchester or Lancashire accent and just said "oh sorry". Pretty obvious it’s a scam.
