Got a call from this number at 17:07 today but didn’t answer since I didn’t know it. Looked it up afterwards and seen loads of similar comments. Pretty clear it’s a scam, best to stay away from it.

Someone claiming to be from Direct Energy called. She said she wasn’t trying to sell anything and assured it wasn’t a nuisance call. I told her that was a bit different, considering it was the third unwanted call today. As soon as I said that, the line cut off straight away. We’ve got a call blocker and are registered on multiple do-not-call lists. The first ring this morning was at 8:45am, disturbing our sleep. We’re retired now after decades of early mornings, and these calls make it really hard to lie in. It’s proper frustrating.

A lady reached out claiming they could slash a third off my energy costs if I answered a few questions, mentioning that an agent was nearby and could pop over. I politely declined and said, “No, thank you,” before ending the call.

I got a call today at 9.30 from 0161 713 4067. The lady said she was with a government-backed UK homecare scheme aimed at cutting carbon emissions and claimed I could save around £350 annually. She said she only needed to ask me four questions. I told her I’d check up on the company first, and she said she’d post me some info and mentioned she already has all my details.

They've rung me up twice, once just last week. Told them to take my number off their list but seems like they ignored that cause they called again this morning. Kept saying they were legit government people and wanted to help me save money. Told them again to stop ringing and to remove my number, plus I’m signed up with the TPS. Got a call about an energy check, they asked like 6 questions. Told them I wasn’t interested but they tried to book an appointment for the afternoon, I said no cheers. I only picked up cos I wanted to see what they wanted. Questions like are you the owner / is the house yours / got a gas boiler / anyone disabled / do you co-own it. Apparently I qualified, bit of a surprise! Honestly, you don’t know these people, they’re just cold calling.

Luckily I was in the middle of moving so didn’t pick up this call. Once I’ve settled, I’m going ex directory and planning to keep my old mobile just as a throwaway for online orders, so these dodgy callers end up ringing a phone that’s barely ever on. The TPS does nothing, so my best option is giving out a burner number when dealing with Google and others to keep safe.

Just got a call from UK Home Serve about some Govt funding for a gadget to stick on radiators that supposedly cuts heating bills by up to 35%. They said it was only for homeowners who’ve lived in their house for more than 16 years and have gas central heating. She told me the funding was ending this week but couldn’t actually name the Govt scheme behind it. Tried to push me to agree to a survey, saying their people were already nearby. Felt a bit rushed and dodgy to me.

She then insisted on dispatching an assessor to my property. I must admit, I don’t find these types of calls beneficial; instead, they leave me feeling quite anxious due to their incessant nature.
