I've had calls two days in a row from this number and also from 01716114885. One was a man, the other a woman, both with really strong Indian accents, clearly from some call centre. They both claimed to be from BT, saying something about my wi-fi. I cut off the man’s call because I could hardly understand him, but when the woman said she was from BT about my wi-fi, I asked, “Why do you think I have BT wi-fi?” She didn’t hang up but said nothing after that, so I just ended the call. I've blocked both numbers now.

I got calls from a number linked to Home Retail Group, like Littlewoods and the like. They were cold calling about supposed debts, but most times they called the wrong number. They said I owed money and demanded payment immediately, plus a £15 fee for the call. If you're not with them, don’t stress - just say go ahead and bill the account as it’s not yours. Make it clear you want your number taken off their list, and if it keeps up, tell them you’ll report it to Ofcom. Also, mention you’re logging every call and will charge £25 for each one in small claims court if it continues.

Just to chime in, if your phone can block calls, it won't even ring when you get one from those annoying numbers. So, you only find out you got a call when you actually look at your phone, and that’s when you can block them properly. If you’re fed up with random cold calls, maybe invest in a phone that lets you block numbers easily.
