This number has called me 18 times so eventually I picked up and let the bloke run through all his spiel. When he started on the lottery and asked me to join some syndicate, I asked him repeatedly - like six times - to take me off his list. He got a bit nasty and told me not to bother wasting my time, so I shot back saying, well you’ve been wasting my time with all these calls! He hung up after that, but honestly, it was kinda amusing messing with him a bit.

I always keep them on their toes, makes it more fun. I act like I’m a bit daft and say how lonely I’ve been since my husband passed. When they catch on there’s no easy way in, I start asking them loads of questions like, “How’s your family, love?” or “Do you have any kids?” (I play the poor old lady card). Most times, they just give up, and then I say, “Thanks ever so much for calling, it’s been a right nice chat.” You get what I mean. Give it a go - it’s quite entertaining!

When I finally picked up, a lady with an Asian accent said I’d won an iPhone 7 and 10 free entries to the EuroMillions for taking part in a competition last week. She had a few bits of info about me like my name, address, and phone number. I decided to humour the call. She asked me to choose some numbers for the draw but then started pushing to get my bank details by suggesting I could enter for 150 draws but only pay for 100. She also claimed that if I didn’t win anything, I’d get all my money back, guaranteed. Total scam!

I finally picked up this number coz it kept ringing non-stop! The bloke said he was from lotto direct and told me I'd won a brand new iPhone 7 plus 10 free lines after entering their contest. I kept telling him I never joined any competition but he just kept going with his script! He had an Indian accent and I could hear loads of others mumbling the same nonsense behind him! Total scam, I’ve blocked the number now.

This number rang me up saying I could get 10 free Euro Millions lines. They actually knew my name, where I live and my email, which felt a bit off. Then they tried to sell me a monthly deal for £39 with loads more lines that supposedly guarantee a win every month, starting after the free ones. I wasn’t having it when they asked for my bank info. I got passed to a manager who insisted they needed my card details to pay out any winnings. I just said no and the bloke ended the call right there.

Simply block the number! There’s no prize waiting for you. They’re only trying to get your bank info to con you. They told me I’d won an iPhone 7, loads of free Euro lottery tickets and a holiday! How lovely! I told them to keep it and blocked the number. They called again a few days later from another number. Dodgy scammers using a dodgy scam! Make sure you tell your mates and family!

Got a call claiming I won the lotto, but pretty sure it was a scam. Definitely report the number somewhere official. You can look it up on the Ofcom site or alert your phone company directly. Just posting here won’t really help much or prevent these dodgy callers from targeting others.

Totally a scam, got the same call last week saying i won an iPhone 7, but only if i signed up for some broadband contract. The bloke this afternoon got really nasty when i laughed at him and said theres no way i’m giving my sort code and account details. Like seriously, i work in fraud investigation, you muppet, but he still insisted i was wrong. The worst bit is someone who trusts them is bound to get caught out one day.

They said I just had to pick some numbers and that these were free because I’d won them. Then they asked for my bank details, and even tho I told them I never give that info over the phone, they kept insisting it was safe cos it was protected by a direct debit guarantee or something. Didn’t buy it, so I just hung up. They called again but I ignored it and have now blocked the number.

They told me I’d won something in a competition, but I said I didn’t remember entering any. I’d had a call like this before so I just played along for a bit. Then they said I’d won either £10,000 or an iPhone 7. I replied, “Oh, well you can give the £10,000 to a charity or just keep the iPhone.” They said no, I’d definitely been chosen. I received a call today from someone claiming to be associated with a major lottery, telling me I'd entered a draw for an iPhone 7, which, to be perfectly clear, I most certainly did not. When I calmly pointed this out, the person on the other end launched into a tirade of abuse. They've been harassing my husband’s mobile for ages, but this was my first direct encounter. I chose not to engage further and simply blocked the number. Hopefully, this will be useful to anyone else in a similar situation!
