I keep getting calls for someone named ‘Allen’, but that’s not me at all. Seems like my number is tied to that name somewhere in some list. Anyway, I just end the call immediately and block the number. Whenever they ask for Allen, I can tell straight away it’s not a genuine call.

Got a call from 0161 236 0297 saying they were from Aviva insurance, mentioned my name, address and number, then asked for my DOB which I didn’t share. Definitely felt like a scam, the woman with an Asian accent just ended the call after that.

Got calls from 01617110285 saying I’m due a refund, told them to post the cheque then ended the call. Then 5 mins later, another call from 01614656630 with the same story, I just hung up straight away.

Got a ring from this number just now, the person asked for me but called me by my dad’s name. When I said I don’t sound like a bloke, she got all short and claimed I didn’t say anything at all when I answered, even though I clearly said hello! We kind of went in circles and she refused to say who she was until I gave her my full name, which I refused. When I asked if she was with TalkTalk, she said no, she’s from Reliance First. I asked where that was, and she just muttered “you heard love.” I ended the call and blocked the number straight away!!!

Definitely dodgy scammers, looks like some kind of organised group. They use loads of different tricks and tales that should make you wary. Best not to get involved at all!!! How they manage to get hold of our numbers is beyond me. I’d recommend changing your phone number fairly often. At least every 5 years, especially if you keep getting loads of calls.

The person on the phone kept trying to get my personal details, but as soon as I asked questions, they just ended the call! Ive blocked the number loads of times but it looks like they keep getting a slightly different one to ring me back.

‭0161 711 0285‬ just called me asking for my dad's surname, which honestly I haven’t used in ages (since my mum divorced him back in the 60s and we took her maiden name). No idea how they got hold of that old name. When I asked where they found it, the person just hung up on me quick sharp 😡. These people really should be reported. I ain’t hiding anything, but it feels like a proper invasion of privacy. Not impressed at all.
