Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent chatting about living in rented rooms and needing to claim for storm damage. The background noise sounded like he was in a massive empty warehouse or something. Felt like a total scam to me.

Some foreign guy called me, couldn't make out what he was saying, kept talking about some storm damage cover. He claimed he got my number from their database. When I told him it’s illegal to buy personal info and asked for his company's name, he just ended the call. Proper muppet, should be locked up. I never agree to cookies on sites either.

My phone app flagged this number as possible spam and stopped the call. I checked it out because I got two calls from a 0161 number, which is Manchester, within the last 30 minutes. Not sure who it is though.

Cheers to everyone for sharing their stories. I’ve got no links to any housing groups yet i keep getting these scam calls, really wanna find out how on earth they got hold of my number. It’s driving me mad! Because of these dodgy calls, i sometimes miss genuine ones which is really unfair. I just wish there was a way to put a stop to this because real companies must be losing customers. I’ve just been blocking and deleting all of them.

I got a call from a lady, sounded like she was Indian and said she was from some kind of Housing Assoc. She was trying to sell me repairs for damp and mould in my house, but couldn't say where the problems were or why I shouldn't just use my home insurance. When I told her it all sounded a bit weird, she just ended the call.

just to clarify, there’s no such thing as a housing association uk that does cold calling! there might be a government quango with a name a bit like it, but they don’t do unsolicited calls. keep in mind, cold calling without permission is against the law.

I reported this to the housing association, asserting that they owe me a hefty sum of £7500. Quite amusing, considering I have no connection whatsoever to them! I called them out as fraudsters, and wouldn't you know it, they had the audacity to dispute my claim. They mentioned being located in Manchester, and when I inquired about the bus routes, they just kept throwing out addresses instead. Clearly, they aren’t actually based in Manchester; they've simply acquired an 0161 number to run their little scam!

Got a couple of calls from this number today, claimed to be some UK housing association (which it's definitely not). First call came through at 6:02 pm but ended after just 32 seconds, then another one right after at 6:03 pm that lasted 19 seconds before they hung up. This was the first and second time this number tried to ring me. Pretty sure it’s just a scam.

Sounds like it was one of those dodgy calls. I told the woman, who had an accent, that she’d got the wrong number, then ended the call and blocked it straight away.

Received a call earlier claiming they could help me settle some debts. When I inquired about how they obtained my number, I requested that they take it out of their system. The chap responded with, "But I'm just trying to assist you!" I made it clear I wasn't keen on their offer and ended the conversation.
