Debt collector from some government agency, they totally ignored what I was trying to say and kept bombarding me with nonsense questions. The number showed as 0161 but the bloke’s accent sounded more like he was from Bolton, which isn’t even the right code. Proper rude as well.

The bloke on the other end couldn't say my full name properly. When he asked for me, I just replied with "who's this?" The call was scratchy and he claimed his manager found my name on some sort of debt list. He said he wanted to help me clear it up. I told him straight up I don’t owe anything at all. Ended the call and blocked the number immediately. Stay away from these!

They knew my name and claimed to be from "National Debt Solutions" - when I asked if they felt bad about tricking people, they said they weren't doing anything illegal. I asked to explain a bit, but said no and ended the call.

sounds like a scammer, if you get calls like this, always ask for their FCA registration and company house number - if they can't give you those, just hang up straight away
