They also mentioned that for someone my age, a Care Alarm would actually be provided for free. The caller reckoned after a trial period, it’d cost 99 pence a day, which didn’t sound right to me.

He claimed dad could qualify for a free neck pillow and then started asking if he used walking aids or wore a medical alert pendant. I’m really wondering how they even got hold of my dad’s number in the first place. It’s definitely a scam in my opinion. I’ve warned my dad not to answer or respond to any future calls from these people - it’s awful how they target older, vulnerable folks like that. Proper nasty behaviour.
