Whenever I receive a call from an unknown number or one I'm not quite certain about, my go-to tactic is to switch my phone to loudspeaker and hit the mute button. Quite amusingly, when I tried this the other day, the caller didn’t seem to have muted their end. The number in question, ‭0161 660 6323‬, didn’t utter a single word and simply disconnected after a rather awkward pause of about 15 seconds. I can’t help but think this must be some kind of scam or just a nuisance call. I mean, typically, if someone has a genuine reason to get in touch, they don’t just sit there waiting for you to say something first, do they? It all seems rather dodgy if you ask me!

Received a call just now from the number 01616606323. An individual of Asian descent was on the line, and I have a suspicion they might be trying to pull a fast one. Feels a bit dodgy if you ask me.

Earlier today, I received a call at my workplace from someone claiming to be from my bank, saying I was owed a refund from an old credit agreement. Their pitch seemed rather fishy, and it raised a few red flags for me. So, I decided to reach out to my bank directly after the call. To no surprise, they told me it was indeed a scam. Trust your instincts, folks!
