Callers often claim urgent security issues with your computer, despite many recipients stating they do not use Windows PCs. The calls commonly feature foreign accents and aggressive, abusive behaviour when challenged, and tend to cease when questioned or when recipients refuse remote access. Many users report repeated calls, silent hang-ups, and no voicemail messages, emphasising this as a clear phishing and harassment attempt. Today alone I got two calls, and four over the whole week, all saying they were from Microsoft. They kept telling me my PC was involved in some hacking stuff. When I mentioned I've got a Chromebook, the bloke just said he’d ring back in ten minutes and then ended the call.

A woman with a strong accent called me regarding my computer issues again, and this is now the second day in a row. Today, the call came through quite early at quarter past eight. After a bit of back and forth, during which I firmly asked her to shove off, she cheekily fired back with her own version of 'you can shove off!' Quite the encounter!

Got a call just after eight this morning, rang once then stopped before I could even pick up the phone. The weird part is I've only had this landline for about a fortnight, barely used it and definitely haven't shared the number with anyone. So how on earth did they get hold of it already?

Got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft, telling me my PC was infected or whatever. Didn’t say exactly who they were or which company they represented. When I asked for their company details, the director’s name and a contact number, they just called me a M*****r F****r! Like why should they share their info when I haven’t given them anything either? Told them to take me off their list, especially since I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service. Seriously, how come these scammers haven’t been shut down yet?

Got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft, warning me they'd shut down my computer. They were super pushy and seemed well-prepared to handle any doubts or refusals. I rang the number back afterwards, and an answerphone picked up with a message along the lines of "Applied Systems Technology" before mentioning their voicemail was full and to try again later. I’m pretty sure it's a scam, though it might be spoofing the phone number of a legitimate business.

Got a missed call on my landline around 12:10 today from this number. When I called back, it started with an American ringtone, then some guy with an Indian accent answered saying they’d misdialled or something. Bit weird if you ask me!

When I picked up, there was total silence from the other end.

Got a call from 01616416146, a woman with a youngish Asian accent claiming she was from Microsoft. I couldn’t catch much since the connection was poor. After a bit of back and forth, she got fed up and kept telling me to "F### off!" a few times before just hanging up!

0161 641 6146 called me, said there was an issue with my computer and asked me to get on it and do as he said. Then he passed me to his “manager,” who just ended the call on me. Total scam, watch out!

Someone with an Indian accent called me, claiming to be from Microsoft’s tech team, saying there was an issue with my PC. I didn’t wait for him to go on and just blocked the number right away before he could say more. These scam calls and emails keep coming every day, it’s really annoying.
