Got a text saying it was from the DWP, said they needed to chat about my ESA claim. They left this number to call back straight away! I didn't bother calling them back as I don't even have an ESA claim.

Got a call from this number, same old stuff about my age and whether I needed any home repairs. When I asked for their website, they just ended the call.

Spoke to a nice woman who actually knew my name and address. When I asked her how she found out, she just said “It’s alright, it’s from the National Database.” She went on about some regeneration company that helps with saving cash on property improvements. I just told her no thanks. It’s really worrying how easily our personal details can be reached.

A lady with an English accent called me claiming to be from some regeneration group or company. She asked loads of personal stuff about me and my house, but I gave her some dodgy answers and didn't answer some questions at all. After messing her about for a bit, I got fed up and said I wasn’t gonna waste any more of her time or mine, then she snapped and hung up on me. I’ve blocked her number now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be the regeneration crew. He already knew our names and where we live, which felt really off. Asked loads of questions about the age of our electrics, windows, kitchen and bathroom. I played along and said the windows needed replacing. Then he tried to get me to talk to another person, but I stopped him and asked if he was with a private firm. He said yes. I told him thanks but no thanks and hung up. Honestly, don’t pick up for these scammers!

Absolute con artists targeting older folks. They claim to help with window repairs and other home stuff, promising funding and all that. Clearly they've got old info because they asked for someone who passed away years ago. How on earth do they get hold of these phone numbers? Proper rude time wasters. Steer well clear.

Sounds like another call centre to me. If there’s a pause before anyone talks, that’s usually the sign. My mate used to be on the phones at one, and he said they ring a bunch of numbers all at once and chat to whoever picks up first. I just end up hanging up every time.

I dont pick up calls from numbers I dont know. If its really urgent, they’ll leave a message anyways. Ive blocked loads of numbers after looking them up here to see if they were real. Thing is, some of them have multiple numbers they use to call, which gets really annoying!

Got a call today, 3rd Sept. A guy claimed there were grants for fixing up homes. He asked if I was under 80, if I owned the house, and if the wiring was older than 20 years. I refused to say anything about my age or my home and told him not to call me back ever again.
