I’m not entirely sure whether this is a dodgy ploy or not, but I received a call from a chap claiming to be with BT. He mentioned that my broadband was accessed by five different IP addresses and asked me to hop onto my iPad to input some details. I promptly halted him there; there was no way I was going to enter anything to verify random IPs! Then he threatened that if I didn't play along, he'd have to cut off my internet and that I'd need to traipse up to the offices with ID to confirm my address, among other things. I simply replied, “Alright, go on then, cheers!” and hung up.
