Got a call from a nice sounding woman who claimed to be with EDF, saying they hadn’t got my renewal papers through yet - total scam!

these scammers are just full of lies and cant be trusted at all

I got a call from a bloke saying his name was Alex Fitton and that he was ringing from Octopus Energy. He told me that people have been phoning Octopus customers trying to get them to change their energy supplier, and apparently that’s some kind of scam. Problem is, this guy’s not linked to any official Octopus call centre and the company itself doesn’t know anyone called Alex Fitton. Seems like a dodgy scam or a prank to me.
