Someone called saying they were from HMRC offering tax rebates. They actually had my name and postcode. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying HMRC is handing out tax refunds. They asked for loads of personal stuff like DOB, address, tax code and bank details. Definitely a scam.

They said they were calling from HMRC. Really aggressive, kept telling me to click a link. Ended the call straight away.

I rang up and tried to offer a service to help lower debts, mentioning there was a free consultation and no cost involved. But luckily, I don’t have any debt at the moment. The guy was quite chatty, sounded Scottish but said he was from Manchester and seemed to know well around there. When I called him back later, the number wasn’t even working. Feels like he might have just been after my personal info.
