Luckily, I refrained from sharing any information. I did some research on their number afterward, and it turns out it's been flagged as a scam.

He was really forcing me to give my house number and asked me to click a link in an email he was sending. The Claims Group called me, saying I had a PPI refund waiting. They really tried to get me to hand over my personal info, but I refused. They claimed HMRC had some money withheld due to a PPI claim and that they could retrieve it. I told them to send me an email with the details, but instead, they kept asking for loads of personal stuff. In the end, they never sent any email.

They said they were from Claims Guys and threw around those same buzzwords others have warned about - HMRC, refund, HSBC, tax, PPI, and an average payout of around £2000. I almost fell for it since I did get a PPI payout before and they had all my info - birthdate, address, email, phone number. I didn’t complete the last step or sign anything because I started feeling uneasy and pressured, so it didn’t seem genuine anymore.
