I let the call go to voicemail and they just dropped the line. That in itself makes me feel like it's probably nothing good.

A caller claimed to be from Openreach, informing us that someone else was using our internet connection. They asked if we could spare 5 to 7 minutes on the line for them to look into it. I was pretty sceptical, so I hung up. They rang back straight away!

Whenever I put in a job application on sites like Indeed, Reed, or Total Jobs, this firm called IPS Group UK somehow ends up with my phone number. They claim to be selling insurance but honestly, it feels more like a dodgy scam. They tend to ring from 020 or 0161 numbers, usually from London or Manchester. Without fail, I get a call from one or the other the day after applying. I wouldn’t trust recruitment agencies either - they’re just passing on your details behind your back.

Yeah, they rang me about some life insurance plan or whatever, and when I tried to say something, the bloke just kept interrupting like I wasn’t even there. I don’t trust life insurance at all, never had one either. When I’m gone, the kids will probably inherit the house, sell it off, and take a cheeky holiday to Vegas for a week. Someone rang saying they were from a life insurance firm that supposedly managed my policy. I couldn't catch the name clearly because the lady spoke with a thick Asian accent. Since I do have life insurance, I thought it could be legit. The caller began by asking about my health, like if I’d ever had a stroke or anything. Then she asked my age, which I thought was odd since they should already have that info. When I started questioning her about it, she just ended the call abruptly.

Woman called me, spoke with a really thick foreign accent. Said she was from some Life Insurance Team. Only asked for me by my first name. When I asked which company exactly, coz ‘Life Insurance Team’ isn’t a proper business name, she said they were working for independent financial services. Total rubbish. Legit companies always tell you exactly where they’re calling from! These are cold call con artists who get mobile numbers from dodgy lists they buy online. Just ignore them! I’ve blocked the number now.

I received a call inquiring about my life insurance, but the caller didn't mention the name of their company. The moment I mentioned that I wasn’t actually in the mortgage market, they hastily ended the conversation. What’s more, they knew my name as well, which was rather unsettling.

Just got a call from an 0203 number a few minutes before this one, they were asking for some lady but that’s not me. Then the second call came from 01615323891 asking about the same person, but when I asked about the first call they said it was another company cos they only use one number. Told them to take me off their list since I work in telecoms and I’m reporting them for abusing the caller ID and using a number they don’t own.
