2 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with 02, but their English was pretty rubbish. Since I don’t have 02, I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Been getting loads of these dodgy calls lately, all showing up as different numbers but seem to be from the Manchester area.Manchester3 yearsI received a phone call today, September 15th, 2023, from a person whose English wasn't quite up to scratch. I asked her to clarify her identity a couple of times, but despite my efforts, I just couldn’t catch her name. She mentioned she was from some provider-sounded like O2, but I’m not even with them! The background noise was quite chaotic, which raised my suspicions. Having spent 46 years in large offices and call centres, I know they usually have soundproofing to minimise background commotion. To me, it sounded like the call was coming through an 0161 number, potentially linked to an overseas operation with dubious practices. The whole thing reeked of a scam, so I promptly hung up and blocked the number!3 yearsSomeone rang saying they were from 02 but the line was rubbish. If it was legit, they would've asked to speak with my husband since he's the one on the contract. I just ended the call straight away.3 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with EE, right off the bat babbling about a 20% discount. Sounded foreign, maybe Indian, and the line was really choppy. Didn’t buy it, looked them up online whilst the call lasted a bit, then just hung up. Definitely not legit EE. I’ve sent a complaint to 7726 about it.EE3 yearsI've had a couple of calls from this number recently, but they always disconnect right after I pick up. Quite peculiar, really!3 yearsGot a call from a number I didn’t know, so I just ignored it. They didn’t leave any voicemail either, which makes me think it’s probably a scam.3 yearsBEWARE, this is a TOTAL SCAM. Don’t get caught out by these con artists. Loads of people have reported losing big sums of cash to these dodgy schemes just this September alone. The number of scams like this is climbing fast, so under NO circumstances should you share any personal or bank details. If you come across any suspicious calls, messages or letters, report them straight to Action Fraud and post about it on social media. Getting the word out there really helps stop others from falling victim. Thanks for helping to fight this mess!NEVERAction Fraud3 yearsThey claimed to be from o2 but honestly it felt like a total scam.3 yearsAn older lady got a call from someone saying there was a problem with her loft and that some workers needed to come and inspect it. She told them she’d just had repairs done not long ago and everything was alright. Then the call just cut off. Seems like a total scam to me!3 yearsLooks like it’s an O2 con, better just ignore the call.Submit Your Own Report (0161 531 4563)
