Got a call from Maksim trying to pitch some investment idea. I looked up the number here first, and it definitely seems a bit dodgy. Would be careful with it.

I picked up the phone and some bloke with a foreign accent started ranting about cavity wall insulation, asking if there were any issues with mine. I said no and had a chuckle. He noticed me laughing and asked why, so I told him straight up I wasn’t buying what he was selling. What really gets me is that with energy prices sky-high, loads of people, especially older folks, will be freezing this winter. Seems like these scammers are already cashing in on people’s worries, doesn’t it?

I received a rather tardy response on the phone, likely from a call centre. An individual with an Asian accent queried me about my name. When I inquired who was calling, he responded with "Green Energy Centre." It had the distinct whiff of a potential scam, so I chose to cut the call short.
