Got a call from someone pretending to be O2, offering a discount on my phone bill for a few months. They didn’t ask for my name or check who I was, which was a big red flag. I didn’t get any messages or app notifications from O2, so I knew it was dodgy. You could hear a busy call centre noise in the background. After I ended the call, they phoned again, but luckily I blocked the number straight away.

Totally a con, no doubt about it. Someone called me, said he was from O2 and tried to confirm a 30% discount. He had everything, like my full name, address and even knew I was switching from Virgin Media to O2. While chatting, he sent me texts from what looked like an ‘O2 UK’ number, which really threw me off.

I eventually called his bluff and he just started laughing, the whole thing fell apart right there. Tried reaching out to O2 to report it but honestly, they were no help at all!
