Received a call purporting to be from the O2 Network, masquerading as my service provider. The individual on the line had a distinct Indian accent. They were touting some bogus discount on my contract, seemingly with the intent of swindling my account details.

Some bloke rang saying he was from O2, but he had a really strong accent. Got a bit annoyed when I said I don’t even use O2 and asked why he was ringing me up. He then wanted to know which provider I had, and I just told him to mind his own business. He went on about some discounted tariffs, but I just told him to stop bothering me and that it sounded dodgy. He argued a bit, then I just hung up... bit boring really.

They claimed to be from O2 offering a 40% discount. Said they'd send me an email and a text, but I got nothing. Then asked for my email address... like O2 wouldn't already have that! Next thing, they asked if there was a bank account linked to the account - I just hung up!
