Got a call today, 15/9/23, from someone who didn’t sound like a native English speaker. I had to ask her a couple of times to say her name again, but she kept saying something like (name lost on me) from "your provider". She mentioned O2, but I ain’t with O2. I could hear loads of noise and voices around her, like a busy office or call centre without any soundproofing. Having worked in call centres for over 46 years myself, I know they usually keep things quiet with proper setups. Feels like this call was being routed from some dodgy "sweatshop" overseas using a 0161 number. It just screamed SCAM to me, so I ended the call and blocked the number straight away!

Got a call from someone claiming to be o2, but it was definitely a scam. Watch out, it’s not the real deal.
