Got a call from some number I didn't recognise about an hour back. Just left it ringing, didn't bother answering.

Totally a scam, no doubt about it. I got a call from a very polite lady with a proper English accent claiming I’d been in a car crash recently. I asked her if that was for real, and she said yes. I told her I definitely hadn’t, and asked her to give me details about when and where it supposedly happened. Without much of a fuss, she apologised for bothering me, said she’d remove my number from their list, and then just hung up. Sketchy as anything.
