Got a call from some so-called "local energy advisor." I'm nowhere near Manchester, like hundreds of miles away, and they rang my office number (I have nothing to do with purchasing or building stuff). As soon as I told them that, they just ended the call straight away.

Dodgy call, felt like a total con. Matches loads of stories on here. They said it was a Manchester line - some woman called Jo talking about risky roof insulation, offering a free loft check. She wanted our postcode, but I didn’t share it. When I asked how she got my number, she said a local rep would call back with all the info. Definitely a scam, no doubt. I just ended the call. Don’t give out any info and just cut it off straight away.

I've been getting numerous calls from a lady whose voice seems all too familiar, chatting about energy efficiency and changes to my home. It sounds rather official, but I can't help but feel it's a bit dodge. This is the first occasion I've actually recorded the number, so I'm not quite certain if previous calls came from this same source. Each time she rings, I promptly inform her that I’m not interested in unsolicited calls and request she stop bothering me, yet the calls keep coming. It's quite infuriating!

Twilio Ireland Limited, seriously, who even sold them this number? They seem to be a firm that hands out phone numbers mostly to scammers trying to rip people off. They provide either landline or mobile numbers and give out a list of active contacts to ring. So if you get a call from a VoIP number they’ve sold, it means you’re definitely on their call list.

Someone called saying they were Joe from the energy advice team or something.... I just ended the call. The voice sounded like that Lindie lady who’s called me from loads of different numbers over the past year. The number showed up as Manchester but I’m way down here in South Wales. Hardly local at all.

Ring claimed they were doing a survey about home insulation around here and suggested my current setup might be harming my house. I told them I’d be reporting the call and posting about it online. The woman replied “No”, so I asked what she meant, and kept getting the same “no” answer a few times. Felt like she was just trying to drag out the call. Ended up just hanging up. Proper scammers.
