What a nasty medical scam, really awful stuff using AI to sound like a real person. I can see how older folks or anyone easily fooled might fall for it, thinking they’re chatting to someone genuine. Usually, my answerphone picks up straight away so I don’t have to deal with it, but by chance I answered this time. Honestly, I’m sticking with my trusty answerphone to handle calls - at least the real mates can leave messages and these sort of annoying calls just give up and hang up, which is a blessing.

A bloke who said his name was Sam rang me claiming to be a health worker from around here, Manchester or something. He started asking about my health issues, but I told him I’m perfectly fine. Then he just went quiet and ended the call. Seems like a dodgy scam to me.

The guy was quite courteous but wasted no time getting to business. My frail, elderly neighbour has received three of these bothersome calls within just a week. She is unwell and genuinely feels like she’s being harassed. Whenever there’s a person on the line, they adopt a very hostile approach, aggressively pushing solar panels that she simply cannot accommodate, given that she rents and isn’t a homeowner. It’s astonishing how this deceitful company shows no regard for anyone's situation or vulnerability. Moreover, they seem to use various similar numbers, only altering one digit here and there. These crooks are absolutely tenacious; if you dare to ask them to prove their identity, they become quite confrontational in their sales pitch. I implore you, let’s put a stop to these dangerous scams.
