Today, my mum who’s 85 got a call from someone saying they were from the tax office, saying she owed £2800 in back taxes. They told her she had just one hour to pay up or she’d be arrested. This kind of thing is illegal, so if anyone else gets a call like this, please make sure to inform HMRC. Hopefully, that’ll help stop these scammers from scaring elderly folks like my mum.
