Absolutely dodgy bunch, those lot! I almost got caught in their web too. They had the audacity to instruct me to use an ATM to send funds to someone else. It was only after a moment's clarity that I remembered the HMRC would never request payments like that. Just goes to show, they're nothing but con artists. Stay vigilant out there!

The caller had a clearly American accent and used typical US slang, which immediately made me suspicious it was some kind of scam. It was actually quite funny to me, but I guess it could really stress some folks out and might even cost you a lot if you decide to ring back.

Received a call from 01615213245 with a robotic voice claiming to be Denise Gray from HMRC. They warned me to ring back or have my lawyer get in touch, or else face legal trouble. They ended it with a strange "goodbye and take care" bit which threw me off. I’m 63 and disabled, so it really frightened me at first.
