I got a call from someone pretending to be Virgin Media trying to sell me a new phone, don’t answer if you get this. I went along with it at first but then checked with Virgin and they told me someone’s ordered a phone on my account without my permission. It’s definitely a scam, so just ignore these calls.

I got a call yesterday from a number almost like this one, only the last couple of digits were different. The person on the line claimed to be calling from Carphone Warehouse. I didn't trust it and ended up blocking that number. Now, today, a call has come through from this very number. Seems like they're trying again.

I had to get in touch with the fraud department to sort it all out. When I started explaining this to the woman on the phone this time, she just hung up on me.
