Answered the phone but they just dropped the call straight away, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

Somebody phoned me trying to push broadband services, so I just ended the call right away.

I got a call from a company claiming they were doing free loft insulation checks because of some report from the British Lung Foundation about materials that supposedly cause lung problems. When I asked for more info or where I could see this report, they just ended the call. I later contacted the BLF myself and they said they'd never heard of any such report. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Received a call around midday from an unknown number, but they didn't leave a message. I'm not in the habit of answering calls from numbers I don't recognise. If it was truly significant, surely they would have dropped a message, wouldn't they?

I received a rather alarming call earlier, where the individual on the other end insisted that I needed to share my meter reading to prevent a disconnection within a day. He purported to be representing Npower. However, upon verification with Npower, it turned out that this number was not associated with them at all. Clearly, this chap was trying to pull a fast one on me!

Got a call from someone claiming I had to give a meter reading or my supply would be cut off the next day. After I hung up, they phoned back half a dozen times, being really pushy and unpleasant. There's no chance it was really N Power - not a good look and definitely not legit!
