I got a call from someone saying they were with EE and could give me a 45% cut on my phone bill. They had no clue what my name was or any of my account info though.

Watch out, these folks are total scammers and con artists, no doubt about it.

I answered the phone but there was nothing but silence on the other end. After a while, I caught some faint sounds in the background, then the caller abruptly ended the call. Seems like a typical scam to me. DR CLEMENT AKATENG MD

This number showed up flagged as possible fraud, and just an hour later, it popped up again on my phone but without any caller ID info. These folks are definitely professional scammers or fraud types. They’re even clever enough to mess with caller ID. Watch out!

They claimed they were offering help with council housing repair issues that hadn’t been fixed. I asked if there was a charge for their service and they said it’s a no-win, no-fee deal. Totally dodgy, definitely a scam. I blocked them, but they’ve rung me a few times already from various numbers. Whoever's handing out these phone numbers really ought to be held accountable because this is just getting ridiculous now.

Hey, cheers for the heads up. I actually got caught out by this dodgy woman’s scam myself. She passed my info around loads of different numbers and ended up sending some scruffy, skinny bloke in his 50s who looked like he should be on Jeremy Kyle. He said his name was Mark Bull. I got in touch with The Real Housing Disrepair team and they confirmed they don’t ask for bank details or ID like these fraudsters do. I’ve reported the whole thing to the police. They trick you into signing something online, and even that so-called High Street solicitor they mentioned is bogus - the number for James wasn’t legit at all. I also got sent a fake letter that looked Photoshopped with a false phone number. Proper scam.

I received a call from a housing repairs service who inquired if I was the property owner. When I pushed back a little, they turned quite confrontational, threatening to escalate things to my local council. Best of luck with that…

They tried to tell me it was about some repair work on a rental property, but I don't even rent anywhere.

They said they were from housing repairs, but I don’t think they were legit at all.

A caller said she was from some housing disrepair LTD company, but looking it up on Companies House showed no such firm exists. Her English was really poor, and she just sounded like she was reading off a script. She asked for me by my first name, which was creepy - clearly she got my details either by buying them or from some data breach online. She kept going on about how she could make landlords fix stuff, but she wasn’t very sharp and ended the call straight away when I told her I was recording. Funny enough, I actually work as a housing officer myself!

I answered the phone but no one spoke a word before just hanging up. Seems like typical cold calling, they always wait for you to say something first - it's like they've drained the life out of the call like some sort of phone vampires.

They pretended they'd spoken to someone else, but when I asked what the call was about, Alex just disconnected. Not that bothered, we’ll just send a complaint to Ofcom.

I think this might be a landline based in London. I couldn’t track down any reviews or comments about this number anywhere else online, which hopefully means it’s nothing dodgy. Has anyone else dealt with this number before? I’ve tried searching it in a few different ways but came up empty.
