Got a call from Virgin Media claiming I could get a 30% discount. They asked me what my last bill was, and I said surely they should already have that info. They kept saying they were from promotions, so I gave them the amount just to see where this was going. Then they tried to tell me what my future bill would be and asked me to spell my name. I asked to speak to a supervisor instead and got someone else. I told them it sounded like a scam since they called me and should know my details already - if they can’t even say the word, maybe they can guess it if I give them some letters of my address or whatever. Then they started asking for my date of birth, and I asked why that was needed. They said it was to confirm my info, but Virgin Media wouldn’t ask for that, I’m sure. I told them I’d ring Virgin Media myself to check if this was legit, and if not, I don’t want any calls again. Both had Indian accents and seriously lacked professionalism, raising their voices and insisting it wasn’t a scam and that they didn’t want my bank details. Quite a dodgy experience overall.

Got a call from Carphone Warehouse the other day, told them to take me off their call list and I wasn’t interested. They started acting all rude and then said something like they had 2,000 numbers to keep ringing me from! Honestly, that bit made me laugh more than anything.

I got a call on 5th April around 11:40 in the morning from someone claiming to be with 02, telling me there was a 30% discount on contracts. They mentioned my line was having issues, so I said I had some minor signal drops now and then. Then they put me through to another person immediately, which I found weird because usually 02 takes ages to connect you with someone else. They asked me for a code they sent by text - but the message from 02 clearly said never to share that code with anyone, not even 02 employees. I told the caller this, but they assured me it was fine since they were from 02. I hung up straight away and since then they’ve been calling non-stop. I just keep cutting the calls. Seriously, don’t pick up if they ring you!
