Received a call from Virgin Media claiming they had a 30% discount for me. They wanted to know my last bill amount, and I pointed out they should already have that information. The person claimed to be from the promotional team, but I asked how that would help. I shared the amount just to see where this was heading. Next, they said my upcoming bill would be XXX and requested me to spell my name. I requested to speak to a supervisor, and another individual came on the line. At this point, it felt like a scam. I told them they had contacted me, so they should have my details. I offered to help them figure out the spelling by giving the first and fifth numbers, hoping for a sane conversation. They then asked for my date of birth. I asked why they needed that, to which they replied it was to verify my identity, but Virgin Media doesn’t ask for that info! I made it clear I would contact Virgin Media directly myself to check if this was legitimate. If not, they could simply avoid calling me again. The whole conversation was unprofessional, with both individuals having noticeable Indian accents and raising their voices. One even insisted, “I am telling you this isn’t a scam, and I do not require your bank details!”

I received a call from Carphone Warehouse as well. When I politely declined and requested to be removed from their list, the response I got was quite ridiculous! They cheekily mentioned that they had two thousand other numbers they could reach me on. It was rather laughable, to be honest!

She surprisingly asked me to verify that figure, to which I replied, "Indeed, I cover the expenses for my entire family and all their acquaintances." At that point, she promptly ended the call.

Received a rather dodgy call at 11:40 am on 5th April, claiming to be from O2, offering a 30% discount on my contract. The chap on the line mentioned there might be issues with my signal, so I admitted to experiencing a bit of interference now and then. Almost immediately, I was put through to another person - usually, with O2, that kind of transfer takes ages. They sent me a code via text and insisted that I share it with them. However, the message from O2 explicitly warned against disclosing the code to anyone, including their own staff. I mentioned this to the caller, but they insisted that it was perfectly safe to share it, as they were indeed from O2. I promptly ended the call, and now they just won’t quit! I keep rejecting their calls. SERIOUSLY, DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THESE PEOPLE!
