I got a call from some bloke with a really thick Indian accent, claiming he was from a company I have never heard of before. The whole thing felt dodgy to me, like it could easily be a scam. The line was really poor too, making it even harder to understand him properly.

Got a call from a lady claiming to be from a phone company, trying to sell me cheap mobile deals and new phones for £35 a month. I told her I already purchased a phone, but she just kept cutting me off and wouldn’t let me finish. Seemed like a total scam to grab my details. Eventually she just dropped the call. Then a nearly identical number rang me the following day but I didn’t pick up.

Some dodgy caller rang me and I picked up, but they seemed to have no clue what I was saying. So I told them it was the police on the line. Bit cheeky, but they ended the call straight away!

So, this person called claiming to be from a phone provider. They said there was a £10 upfront fee for a brand new iPhone and then £35 each month for unlimited calls, texts, and data. I pretended to be interested at first. Then, the woman said she needed to get her manager to approve the payment. A bloke then came on the line, so I just put the call on mute and stopped listening.

When they queried my current payment, I pointed out that they ought to have that information on hand. The caller insisted he was from customer services and not billing. At that point, I decided to end the conversation. 😒😊

I had a rather peculiar experience with a call from this number. The individual on the line claimed to be from Virgin Media and inquired about my current payment amount. Naturally, I pointed out that they'd have access to that information themselves if they were indeed with Virgin Media. They then attempted to lure me in with a discount on my plan but promptly asked for my postcode. I reiterated that they should already possess that data if they were legitimate. I firmly stated that I wouldn't be divulging any personal details over an unsolicited call, at which point they promptly disconnected the line. Upon redialing the number, it turned out to belong to a children's charity named aTLC. It's astonishing and quite troubling how scammers can hijack legitimate phone numbers to execute their dodgy schemes. I truly hope others remain vigilant and don't fall prey to such tactics.

A rather shifty call, I've had this number ring me previously as well. They tried again, but the reception was poor, and I caught something about Virgin Media. When I remarked that I couldn’t quite hear them, they abruptly ended the call. Quite odd, really.
