4 yearsGot a call today from some numpty about a PPI payout. Honestly, it’s astounding that con artists are still at it when it seems like every person in the UK is aware of these PPI scams! Just wanted to jot this down here in case it aids anyone down the line.UK5 yearsPicked up the call, but there was complete silence on the other end-definitely feels like spam!5 yearsI tried calling this number again only to be met with an 'unavailable' message. I've been bombarded with calls from this line, and it seems to be originating from Manchester, Leeds, and Glasgow. Quite the bother, I must say!ManchesterLeedsGlasgow5 yearsUtterly rubbish!5 yearsI've received several calls from numbers that seem to originate from Scotland, Liverpool, and Manchester. I've chosen not to pick up as they strike me as potential scammers on the prowl for unsuspecting victims.ScotlandLiverpoolManchester5 yearsI received a curious call from this number today purporting to be from Blackhorse Financial. The gentleman on the line specifically asked if I was the person he was looking for, using my name, and shockingly, he had my address and postcode as well. Given how easily such information can be accessed, I wasn't too alarmed initially. He then proceeded to mention an outstanding PPI payment awaiting me, and insisted that he needed my sort code and account number to finalise the paperwork necessary for me to sign. He assured me there was no danger in providing this information, claiming he couldn't use it to siphon money from my account. Interestingly, he said he wasn’t interested in my long card number, as that was supposedly the only way someone could access my funds. When I expressed my desire to confirm the legitimacy of the call with a superior, he offered me a name and phone number for his supposed supervisor, someone called Andrew Watson. I assured him I would verify the call, and he seemed fine with it. Upon hanging up, however, I attempted to ring back the number that had called me, only to find it wouldn’t connect at all. So, I decided to contact Blackhorse Finance directly, and they confirmed it was a clear scam, as PPI cases have all been settled and closed. The chap on the phone sounded quite convincing-right down to providing a name and contact for his supervisor. Blackhorse's customer service also checked both numbers and confirmed they had no affiliation with them whatsoever. Apologies for the lengthy account, but my wife feels it’s crucial for others to be aware, as these scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their approach.Blackhorse FinancialAndrew WatsonBlackhorse FinanceBlackhorse5 yearsI'm completely in the dark about who's on the other end; they haven't responded at all.5 yearsI've received three calls today from an unfamiliar number in the UK, and I've chosen not to pick up any of them. After much hesitation, I finally picked up the phone, only to be greeted by someone named Alisha. When I replied with a firm "no," they promptly ended the call. The atmosphere on the line had that unmistakable buzz of a call centre in the background.
