I’ve been getting calls from this number that don’t say anything, just silent, and my answerphone doesn’t pick them up either. It’s been happening every day, so I just let it be most of the time. After that, I get loads of calls from numbers starting with 0131, with robotic voices on the line. On top of that, Barclaycard showed two dodgy charges recently. I hung up on these calls straight away and now I’ve blocked them on my phone, labelled as “Scam1”, “Scam2”, and so on.

Nowadays, I just let all unknown numbers go straight to voicemail. They keep ringing about some supposed huge Amazon fees I'm meant to owe. My phone’s blocking list is full up now, which means I’ll have to waste ages trying to clear some room. This annoying message comes through about 5 to 10 times every single day, each time showing a different number. It’s ridiculous how the law hasn’t caught up, and why can’t our phones be set up better to shield users from this? Honestly, it’s making me think twice about even having a landline anymore.

Just got back and found this number had left a message on my answerphone warning about tonnes of money supposedly being taken from my Amazon account. Well, if only I had any money in there! How can you steal from an account that’s empty? Didn’t bother ringing back, but annoyed I missed the call because I might’ve given them a mouthful - could’ve landed me in trouble with the Telecomms Act over swear words! Honestly, this call felt really dodgy and dodgy calls like this should be watched out for.

Got a call today from someone saying they were from 'Bank Security', claiming there were two strange withdrawals from my account. After that, a live person spoke, sounded like they might have been Indian. I hung up straight away and used a different phone to contact my bank - turns out, it was definitely a scam. Total scam alert! They claimed to be from my bank saying my Visa had been charged £1100 and £300 for stuff on Amazon. When I asked to speak to someone else, they passed me to some call centre somewhere in Asia and weirdly used my maiden name. Ended the call right there.

I came home to see my answering machine blinking, so i hit play but there was nothing there. I looked up the number online and about ten minutes later it rang again, same number. The caller claimed to be bank security saying £300 and £1000 were withdrawn from my account. This call happens almost daily now, obviously scammers fishing for my bank info.

This number keeps ringing my house phone like 3 times every day, its driving me mad. Since I ignore the landline, they started ringing my mobile now. Is there no way for Trading Standards or the Police to step in and stop this? Really fed up with it all.

Just got a call today around 11:11 am from a lady’s recorded message pretending to be from my bank. She said there were transactions from Amazon on my account for £300 and another one for £1,100, asking if that was right and to press 1 if not so I could talk to someone. A few days back, I got the exact same sort of scam but it was a bloke doing the recording. Honestly, don’t press any buttons or you’re just opening the door to God knows what. These scammers need to be locked up properly, not free to mess with everyone’s money from their tech setups.

I've received a whopping 22 calls since the 25th of January, all claiming there's been fraudulent activity on my account. It seems the moment you pick up, your voice triggers some sort of automated scam message. If you stay silent, the call simply disconnects. What an absolute pest!

Encountered a comparable con, much like what others have described. Received a message in a robotic voice claiming that there were two potentially dodgy transactions linked to my card. After verifying my bank accounts, I found no trace of such payments. It leads me to suspect that it’s just a bunch of unscrupulous blighters trying to fish for my account information.

On the 28th of February 2022, I got a trio of robocalls from the number 0161 520 1378. They claimed that there had been an attempt to process a £300 transaction on Amazon as well as a £1,000 charge from overseas on my card. Naturally, we ended the call rather swiftly.

This is actually the second time in two days I’ve had a call from this number. Like others have said, it’s definitely a scam, especially since the amounts they mention are exactly the same every time. Best to just ignore it.
