I got a call from someone saying they were from the council but it felt fishy, like a scam or something. Definitely not legit, so watch out if you get a call like that!

Got a call this morning at 8:24, but I missed it. Then they rang again just now at 4:35 and some woman said she was from Just Living, wanted to ask me some questions about my house. I told her I don’t do phone surveys. She launched straight into a pushy sales pitch, so I had to raise my voice to make her stop. Told her to take me off their list and never call me again. She claimed they never called me before, but I know they did. Warned her if she rings again I’ll report it as a GDPR violation. She hung up on me, shouting some insults I couldn’t quite make out.

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang up saying he was from Microsoft and there was something wrong with my PC. The thing is, I don’t even own a computer! I made it perfectly clear I wasn’t interested and told him to get lost in no uncertain terms.

So this guy rang me saying he was from Microsoft, telling me I’d somehow downloaded dodgy files full of hacking stuff and malware. Then he asked if I was in front of my PC right now so he could supposedly show me what was wrong. Honestly, it felt like he was trying to set me up to install his own malware so he could take over my computer later on. I get that COVID’s hit everyone hard and jobs are scarce, but I’m grafting hard for what I earn. So seriously, don’t try this nonsense on me.

This Indian lady rang me 5 times! After I told her to do one, she still kept calling. She said there was some problem with my Microsoft stuff and wanted me to open my PC to get the serial number so she could "show" she was legit. Yeah right, total scammer.

Usually, I only let calls ring through automatically if the number’s on my green list. Anyone else has to say who they are before I pick up or block the number. I’ve been using this “True Call” system for a while now. This was actually the first con call that slipped past it all - most times, the scammers just hang up when they hear they’ve got to identify themselves before I talk to them.

I had a call from someone claiming my computer was tied up with gambling and sending dodgy emails. They started shouting and throwing insults at me, saying I was being disrespectful. Once I mentioned that I was ringing from a police station, they quickly ended the call. They also wanted to get into my computer somehow.
