I received a telephone call from a firm named UK Repairs and Servicing Ltd. Quite amusingly, the caller butchered my name as she tried to get my attention. She proceeded to inform me that my Sky insurance was approaching its renewal date. She presented a choice of £8 monthly or a single payment of £80 for the year. Quite the curious offer, considering I’ve never subscribed to Sky! Upon my inquiry, she claimed their offices were located in Manchester. When I pressed for a specific address, however, she abruptly ended the conversation - a clear indication that something fishy was afoot. Being registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I shouldn't have been on the receiving end of such a call in the first place. Furthermore, if I request an address, it’s a legal obligation for them to provide it. Interestingly, I found that there was a business by that name listed with Companies House, but it was dissolved back in August 2018.

So I got a call saying my Sky insurance was up for renewal and they wanted my card info. Funny how quick they hang up when you don’t play along.

Had a call from a woman claiming to be from Sky about my TV repair and contract. Honestly, it felt dodgy. Wouldn't trust it, be careful! 11-10-19

This morning, a woman with an older voice rang us from this number, saying our Sky insurance was about to expire this month. She offered a cheaper monthly rate than what we normally pay. She mentioned we'd get a written confirmation through the post in a couple of days but then asked for our bank sort code, which made us uneasy. We told her we'd check with Sky ourselves and ended the call. We actually renewed our Sky insurance back in September already.

Got a call from some bloke with a Liverpool accent saying my Sky Protect was about to expire. Told him I wasn’t interested in renewing and he just dropped the call. Scary thing is, he already knew my last name!

I got a call from someone saying my Sky Warranty was ending soon. When I told them I didn’t even have one, they got pretty irate. After a bit of a row, they just went quiet and ended the call.

These calls keep coming, asking if I've been in an accident that wasn’t even my fault. It's just another one of those dodgy accident claim scams. All they really want is for you to hand over your credit card info. Total waste of time.

I’ve had a few calls from a guy with a strong Liverpool accent, saying my Sky insurance had been cancelled and asking why. When I tried to respond, nothing happened on their end. They kept pushing to speak to my elderly mum about renewing. I told him she’s no longer with us and he just cut the call. This felt like a proper scam, so watch out. They called from different numbers each time.
