I didn't pick up, but there was an automated message from a woman’s voice saying she was from HMRC and that I should contact a solicitor. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Some scammers pretending to be from HMRC trying to con people. Better not ring them back.

got a recorded message telling me to ring back asap or there’d be serious consequences. it sounded really harsh and pushy, totally not what you'd expect from HMRC like they say. felt pretty scary especially if you're on your own or a bit worried. i’d advise against picking up this number and if you do, just block it straight away. 0161 513 7059 is not to be trusted.

Got a call from some automated system, said it was Dennis Gray from HMRC, but the voice was a woman? The message was like, "ignore this and call us straight away. If you or your lawyer don’t get in touch, expect legal trouble. Goodbye and be careful." I didn’t bother ringing back - bet it’d cost a fortune per second to call or something crazy like that (probably exaggerating a bit, obviously).

I got a weird call from an automated voice that sounded like a bloke but was actually a woman - super convincing. They said it was from some place called hmre and asked me to ring them back on a number they gave. Definitely don't bother calling that number!
