Got a call from someone claiming to be from EDF. Thing is, I don’t even have an EDF account. I just ended the call right there.

I received a call from this number claiming to represent EDF. It turns out the call was genuine-definitely affiliated with a reputable business. They were inquiring about my malfunctioning smart meter for electricity. We ended up scheduling a visit from an engineer to sort out the issue.

I got a call from this number so I called EDF right away after hanging up, just to check. They said they don’t use callers like this at all. If you’re ever unsure, just give EDF a ring directly. Total scam, don’t trust these people - they’re awful!

some bloke i dont know left me a voicemail saying my EDF meter’s not working right and that they’d sent an engineer over, told me to ring them back. but theres nothing wrong with my meter at all, so watch out for that kinda call.

Some bloke I don’t know left a voicemail about my meter not working and mentioned they’re sending an engineer over. He asked me to ring back. Not sure if there’s really an issue with my meter or if it’s a scam, so watch out!

I've just had a bloke from mpass come by, he was looking into an issue with my smart meter connected to EDF. The number is 01615133535, so it’s definitely legit, not a con or anything. Turns out the battery in the smart meter was faulty. He was really nice and didn’t take up much time at all. No need to panic, seems like they’re just fixing a simple problem.

Felt like a scam at first since loads of offshore call centres call me all the time, so I ignored a few. But when I finally picked up and asked some questions, they already had my EDF account details and my address. Next day, as promised, an MPAAS engineer turned up. Weirdly, when I phoned EDF to confirm everything was legit, they said they had no idea about it.

At first, I ignored a few calls coz they just seemed like those scammy call centres from abroad. But on the last one, when I asked some questions, they actually knew my EDF account number and where I lived. The next day, an MPAAS engineer showed up like they said they would. The strange bit? When I rang EDF to double-check, they had no clue about any of it.

At first I thought it was just another scam call like the many offshore ones, so I ignored a few. But on one of the later calls, when I asked for info, they surprisingly knew my EDF account number and my address. The next day, an MPAAS engineer actually turned up as planned. Weird thing was, EDF didn’t seem to have any record of this when I rang them to confirm if it was legit.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from EDF about a gas meter, but I don’t live there anymore. They were asking for info about the new tenant and when I moved out - all stuff EDF would already know. I just ended the call.

I had a similar experience today. I received a phone call purporting to be from EDF, complete with my name and address details. They insisted I needed to schedule an appointment for an engineer to address an issue. Feeling rather sceptical, I reached out to EDF directly, and they confirmed they had no record of such a call. When the number tried to contact me again, I mentioned my earlier chat with EDF, and they promptly cut the line. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I got a rather concerning phone call stating that my smart meter had malfunctioned and that an engineer would be coming round to sort it out. After the call, I started to feel a bit anxious, so I took it upon myself to look into the number that rang me - lo and behold, it wasn't one associated with EDF. I then spent over half an hour trying to get through to EDF, only to choose to drop them an email instead, stating that I wouldn't entertain the engineer's visit unless they could verify the appointment. Now, I'm just left hanging, waiting for EDF to get back to me.

About seven weeks after notifying EDF about a problem with my Smart Meter, I got a call from MPAAS arranging for an engineer to visit and fix it. They only asked for my postcode during the call and nothing more. Once we set a date for the engineer, I rang EDF to double-check and they confirmed MPAAS do indeed handle that work for them. From what I can tell, MPAAS seem legitimate. I’ll update here if anything goes wrong when the engineer arrives.

Got a call from MPAAS about my smart gas meter not linking up properly with EDF, my energy provider. They already had everything like my postcode and some other details, didn’t ask for anything weird or personal. Sorted an appointment with them to fix the connection. Turns out MPAAS does a lot of work with energy firms that supply smart meters. Had a look at their site mpaas[###] and seems legit.

I received a call from a firm associated with EDF, and contrary to what some people have claimed, it wasn't a fraudulent call in my experience. They reached out regarding an issue with my electricity smart meter not being able to communicate properly, which is indeed true-it hasn't functioned since Npower attempted to "repair" the gas meter, which has never functioned as a smart meter anyway.

I received a call from someone purporting to represent EDF Energy, claiming there was a problem with my smart meter that required an in-person visit for repairs. They even had the cheek to know both my first and last names. Unsurprisingly, I was sceptical about their claims, so I promptly reached out to EDF directly. They assured me that there were no issues with my smart meter and that no appointments had been scheduled. Interestingly, the phone number appears to be tied to a legitimate company, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that these callers might be playing tricks by spoofing the real number. Consequently, I've blocked their number and made it clear that any genuine communication from EDF should go through their official channels. Better safe than sorry!

So, these guys called Mpaas came round to reset my meter, supposedly for EDF. They seemed alright, but they’re pretty new and not very well known. When I tried to check with EDF, they acted like they had no clue about Mpaas working with them, which was a bit confusing and made me a bit wary.

The caller mentioned that I should arrange for an engineer to come out due to an issue with my electricity meter. I went ahead and made the appointment but soon realised it wasn't a good time for me, so I decided to cancel it. However, when I contacted EDF, my energy provider, they had absolutely no record of any scheduled visit or even a fault! Now I'm feeling quite anxious, as I've inadvertently given my home address to what might be a scammer.
