I got a call supposedly from Rachel Todd at HMRC, but it was actually a recorded message spoken with an American accent. It said Rachel Todd needed my solicitor to ring back immediately, warning that ignoring it could cause big money problems. I ended up reporting it to [email protected], but their reply was basically, "Sorry, this isn’t something we can act on since it’s not connected to HMRC. Maybe try sending it to whoever it really concerns." Honestly, just left me shaking my head. #facepalm#

I received a voicemail saying HMRC were pursuing legal action over unpaid tax and to pay straight away to avoid penalties. It was obviously a scam. For a laugh, I rang back and ended up chatting with an Indian guy with a thick accent. I gave him a stern but polite warning to stop tricking folks. Fingers crossed no one's fallen for their nonsense.

This scam call was really stressful coz Officer Rachel Todd kept saying it was urgent and that I couldn’t just ignore it. I had already talked to the Tax Office recently, like a few weeks back, plus I dealt with something like this last year too, so that helped me stay calm. Honestly, these scammers are awful and honestly, they really deserve some serious punishment.

Got one of these calls too, said the same thing as what others have mentioned here. I spoke to my accountant and she said it's definitely a scam. I'm a solicitor myself, and from what everyone’s been saying, I also think it’s a load of rubbish. If you want to do something about it, you can report them to Trading Standards consumer helpline, open 9 to 5, at 03454 04 05 06.

I rang this number and a woman with an Asian accent picked up, claiming to be from HM Customs and wanted my personal info. When I asked who she was, she said she didn’t know me either. I said the same, and then she just told me to hang up. Definitely a scam.

I got a call on my mobile from someone claiming to be HMRC, then they left a message threatening legal action if I didn’t ring back straight away! When I returned the call, a guy with an Asian accent answered and asked when I got the initial call; as soon as I said “a few minutes ago,” he used my full name and asked me to confirm it. I wasn’t about to give any details, so asked him for proof he was legit. Instead, he told me to ditch my phone and then just hung up. It’s proper scary how threatening it was, so I’m planning to report this both to HMRC and the police.
