I received a rather alarming voicemail from 01515096425, purporting to be from HMRC. The message was delivered in an American accent and warned me of potential legal repercussions if I failed to get in touch. Interestingly, it arrived on the very day I was in the midst of addressing a genuine matter with HMRC. I've since blocked the number, just to be safe.

My company does accounting work and I can tell you for sure this call was a scam from folks pretending to be HMRC. They’re definitely not HMRC. The real HMRC wouldn’t get in touch like that at all. Best to block the number right away and make sure any elderly or vulnerable relatives know too.
