I read a Daily Mail article earlier this year about HMRC scam call centres based in the Indian subcontinent. We should all write to our MPs about this. Then maybe the Indian and Pakistani military police could carry out raids on those centres. In the end, we should get some sort of compensation from our phone companies.

I ignored the call since I had no clue who it was. Then I heard it was from HMRC claiming there's a warrant out for my arrest. Honestly, it's pretty terrifying. People really will go to any lengths just to squeeze cash out of us.

I had a missed call earlier from a number I didn’t recognise, so I didn’t bother picking up. Later, I got a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC saying there’s a warrant out for me and to not ignore their calls. It sounded like one of those automated messages. I’m not in any kind of debt, so no way am I calling them back.

I had a call from a bloke saying he was with HMRC. He asked if he could verify a few details to access my info. When I asked which specific department he was from, he just repeated HMRC, and when I pressed further asking for details, he abruptly ended the call. You can tell it’s a dodgy call since legitimate HMRC lines never pick up that fast.
