I'm pretty sure this number's involved in a PPI scam. They keep ringing me claiming there's extra cash from a PPI claim I made a couple years back, and they ask for personal info, including my National Insurance number. If it was legit, they'd send something in writing, but the caller says that's not something they do. I've blocked the number now. Just a heads up to everyone to watch out.

A while back, I got a call from someone who seemed to already know I’d made a PPI claim years ago along with the company’s name. They told me I might be able to get some tax money refunded. It sounded dodgy, so I asked them to send me something in writing first. They then said they didn’t do that anymore, which made me cut the call straight away.

They asked me straight up for my National Insurance number, which I didn't give them. I told him I'd look into his business before speaking again, and he said he'd call back the next day. Feels dodgy to me, like one of those scams. Seems like they've already got some of my info, but I can’t work out why they’d need my NI number. Strange really.

I thought I was pretty savvy when it comes to dodgy calls, but this one got me good. They had all my info from a PPI claim I made years ago. After watching the Martin Lewis programme on Wednesday 8th March, where he said people might owe tax on PPI payouts, I completely fell for it. When I rang them back, they even used the exact company name I’d originally claimed through - though that company had long since closed down. They rattled off all my details, even the amount I’d received from the original PPI deal. At some point, they casually asked me to confirm my NI number, and foolishly, I did. The real alarm bells rang when they kept pushing me to click on a link they emailed me. That’s when I realised something was seriously wrong. Spent the next couple of hours reporting everything to Action Fraud. I’ve found loads of different numbers connected to these scammers, probably all using stolen PPI info. Can’t believe how my data’s ended up in the wrong hands! 🙈

This lot just keep ringing non stop. Proper scam if you ask me. I asked them if they felt any guilt about pestering me, but they just ignored it. Told them to delete my number from their list, but guess what, only a week later I got two more calls! That’s like 10 calls in total now. Every time I gave them dodgy info just to get them off the line. Complete time wasters, honestly.

I spent ages on the phone grilling the bloke because it felt like a total scam, plus I wondered why they’d be paying for the call. Got a call first from some place called Goodwin Barrett. I’ve dealt with them before. Then, I was told a firm called Claim My Tax, with the number 01615051757, was handling things for me. After that, I started getting texts and emails telling me to ring that number. When I tried looking it up, it showed up as potentially fraudulent. I called the number to find out why it was flagged like that, but the call was ended right away.

This bloke rang my phone, acted really rude and full of himself, knew my name and said it was about a PPI claim from 2019. I told him to just send an email or a letter instead. He got all annoyed, which isn’t very professional at all, and said that wasn’t an option. So I cut him off. Seriously, who’s handing out our personal PPI info to these lot? Feels like these scammers have got loads of our private details already, and that’s the real concern here!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Barclays about £2,000 they said I got from them some years back. I couldn’t remember anything like that, so I just ended the call. The call I picked up was at 2:56 pm, and they also tried me twice before and after, around 1:21 pm and then again at 5:31 pm, but I didn’t answer those.

Got a call last Friday from a number saying they were lawyers in Manchester dealing with some money owed to me via HSBC. They had all my info and said it was about a claim. When they asked for my NI number, I got suspicious and told them I needed some time to check things out, then ended the call. This morning (Monday), the same number, 0161 505 1757, rang me again but I didn’t pick up. The voice on the other end sounded like it had a heavy South African accent. Feels dodgy to me.

They already knew everything about me, like my date of birth, where I live, and even which company handled my PPI refund. They were saying all this stuff, so I told them not to share or use my info. When they asked for my National Insurance number, I refused and told them to send a formal request instead. They said they couldn’t do that, so I told them neither was I giving my NINO and ended the call.
