I rang up the real Morecroft Group and they said they didn't have any record of me and wouldn't share any further info or help.

On 29th July, my landline got loads of missed calls with voice messages asking me to ring back. At first, the recorded message sounded like it matched my info alright, but then I got put through to a guy called Nuno who didn’t seem to know anything about the company. He said they were acting for HMRC, which seemed fishy. The name they gave was the Moorcroft Group. Seriously, watch out - this reeks of a scam.

I haven’t received any letters from them tho, so I’m guessing this is just a scam. If it was a genuine debt, surely they’d send something in writing first.

just got a voicemail from this same number again, they call a diff number then tell you to dial the one shown here, said they were from moorcroft, also mentioned a message for some guy called anthony but it sounded really muffled, so i’ve blocked the number now. getting tons of these sorts of calls, one said they were from cabolt finance but i don’t owe anything.

Moorcroft calling again!!! First it was Thames Water, now these lot, asking for someone I've never even heard of. (Both calls from the same person btw). I just ignore them and block the numbers every time, but they keep using loads of different phones.
