I got a call from this number 0161 464 9027 and it was a lady speaking with an Asian accent. She wanted me to confirm my name but when I asked who she was, she refused to say. Then I asked if I’d called her first and given permission to ring me, but she just hung up. I checked my blocked calls and saw I’d already blocked a very similar number 0161 464 9026 before. Clearly, they seem to purchase a chunk of numbers and keep switching them, so it’s really important we keep flagging these calls.

I reckon this is one of those green numbers, likely linked to some business's customer support where they foot the phone bill. I couldn’t track down exactly who it belongs to, but numbers like this often come from call centres pretending to be from npower or south east water, calling for billing or customer service stuff. I just left this one ringing and didn’t pick up.
