Someone called saying I was owed £2500 for a car accident supposedly within the past two years. When I told them I hadn’t had any accident recently, they just hung up on me. Total scam, stay clear.

This bloke rang me up claiming there was a second payment waiting for me from an accident I had last year. He even used my full name and postcode. I told him I wasn’t convinced, so he said he’d send over some paperwork. Then he asked if I’d spoken to a solicitor, and when I said yes, he just hung up. Honestly, it was quite unsettling. What freaked me out the most was that he knew my postcode and my unusual name. Plus, some of the things people say here are spot on - they talk so fast it’s like they’re on something!

They were claiming to have a file saying I’d been in an accident, but when I asked where they got that info from, they just passed me over to another person. When I pressed them to tell me where the data came from, they started shouting I had to answer the questions, and when I said I wanted to know the company’s name, they just hung up on me.

Got a call about an accident claim, they said they'd send a cheque but needed me to confirm my identity first. I asked them to tell me my surname, not the other way around. The woman said, "I’m not sure if I’m saying your name right, it’s MACARTY or MACATTY?" (My surname’s Holland). I told her no matter how she said it, that wasn’t my name at all, so she must have called the wrong person. She insisted, "No ma’am, we’ve got the right person!" Completely typical scammers. Told them to shove it and blocked the number straight away.
