I didn’t even pick up, honestly think everyone should do the same unless you’re expecting a call from that number. It’s getting pretty simple to spot these calls, especially when the area code’s not familiar. Even if it is, just ignore it - if it’s important they’ll send a text! Chill out!

Not sure what his name was but he said he’s from the car accident call team. He spoke to my son about a crash and said he was from my insurance company. My son kept chatting with him till I told him to speak to my insurance agent, then he just hung up.

Got a call on Bank Holiday Monday just after 7pm! Answered because it showed as a landline, but the line was all static and I couldn’t catch what they were saying. I received a call today from some outfit asking about an 'incident' I supposedly experienced in the past two and a half years. When I pressed them for where they sourced my information, they clammed up and refused to reveal the source or who had put me in touch with them. I told them where to go, quite forcefully, I might add!

I’ve just received a rather unexpected call from a woman with an accent, claiming to be inquiring about an accident I apparently had. Curiosity got the better of me, and I asked her when this supposedly took place. Her response was quite rude; she retorted with some choice words, implying that I was being tongue-in-cheek. As I attempted to express my dismay at her use of profanity, she abruptly ended the call. I was utterly taken aback, and for a moment, I contemplated ringing her back. However, I thought better of it, knowing that it’d likely cost me.

I have blocked this number but calls keep coming through. These scammers seem to be calling from abroad, but the number shows up as if it’s from Manchester, UK, to hide their true location and make blocking harder. If you’re getting annoyed over and over, try keeping a noisy whistle or a personal alarm near your phone and blow it into the receiver next time they ring. If they dont stop after that, well at least they’ll be temporarily unable to call anyone else!
