My phone rang a few times before I picked up, and the guy on the end was saying it wasn’t a cold caller but that he had to 'finalise' some accident from 2013. When I told him I never made a claim since I wasn’t hurt, he just ended the call. Proper pain in the neck and dodgy behaviour. Better to just block this number.

These people have been ringing me non stop about a crash from two years ago, saying they're CaS and connected to uKI. I asked them to send an email with details so I could verify who they really are and maybe track down who leaked my info without permission. They said I had to speak to someone else first before they could email me anything. I told them I wasn’t hurt in the accident, but they insisted I’m entitled to claim because the insurance company had set aside some money and if I don’t claim in three years it goes back. Over the last couple of days, I've gotten pretty much the same call about insurance claims. The bloke on the other end was speaking super fast, mentioning some “QT accident insurance” or something like that - not a real company at all. Since I've had a few minor scrapes with my car before, I wasn’t quite sure if it was about one of those, so I accidentally said maybe I did. Big mistake - never admit to having had an accident! Then he started going on about me supposedly claiming over £500 on my insurance, which is totally made up, and asked if I had any whiplash or seatbelt “judder.” Honestly, I don’t know why I bothered hanging around, he got increasingly rude and unprofessional, which just screams scam run by dodgy people. I picked up this call and the person immediately said I’d been in a crash, not my fault, and that I was owed compensation. They even mentioned the make of my car and my name, so it looks like Admiral Insurance, who handled my claim, must’ve leaked my details. When I questioned how they got my phone number, the caller acted like they didn’t hear me, so I just ended the call. Not long after, I got another call from a different number, also a scam. Had a call from someone named Amy, pretty much the same deal. I’d had a car crash a few months ago, and they were spot on about it not being my fault, even knew the exact make and model of my car. Although, not really an accident - some bloke was reversing in a car park and bumped into me as I was driving slowly. In one week, I got at least five calls. So this bloke rings me up asking if I’m happy with a claim from October. I was fuming straight away. I asked what he reckoned happened and he says I got hit by a Renault Clio. At that point I’m proper annoyed and wanted to know where he got that info from. He said ‘MID’, whatever that means, it’s some sort of database apparently. I told him the truth, a bolt on the road actually broke my gearbox and there wasn’t a Clio anywhere near me. I wasn’t best pleased and he started trying to justify himself. For over a week, I kept getting calls from these scammers, sometimes up to six times a day. I did manage to talk to them a few times, but most of the time there was just silence when I answered. They claimed to be from something like ‘Payment Claims’ and tried to convince me to file a false insurance claim about an injury involving a parked car - an accident I wasn’t even involved in! I told them to stop calling me, but it didn’t make any difference. Now I’ve blocked them completely. The only upside is that I was actually in Florida for the last couple of weeks, so they ended up making several international calls. Is this really allowed? It feels wrong.
