I received a call from this number, and the caller asserted they were from HMRC. However, I could hardly make out what she was saying, so I inquired a couple of times about her identity. She mentioned she was with the finance department and remarked that I had an ill son. When I asked her to repeat herself once more, she abruptly ended the call. I just got a call from this number, felt a bit iffy about it so I looked it up on Google and ended up on this page. Definitely a dodgy HMRC scam, the woman said the call was being recorded so she couldn’t tell me exactly how much tax I supposedly overpaid, but it was supposedly over £300. I told her I’ve got accountants handling my stuff and they should get in touch if there’s any issue with my taxes.

Avoid this number at all costs! I got a call from them at about 11.07 this morning. The person claimed I was due a tax refund and asked me to verify the postcode from an old address. When I told them I never gave HMRC my mobile number and asked how they got it, she said it was from the ‘office of revenue’. Then, as soon as I asked her to wait while I looked them up online, she just dropped the call!

This just happened to me too. Got 3 calls today from someone saying they were from HMRC but they had an old address for me from over a decade ago. They asked for my current address but I refused as I wanted to check if it was legit, so I looked it up here. My tip: just block that number. HMRC already has your details and never use third parties to call you - they send any money through the post. Don’t hand your info to these fraudsters.

Bit strange, I actually rang HMRC just this morning and they told me I’m owed a rebate, so this call from someone called Julie saying she's from HMRC and wants to send me a form to claim it, is it just a weird coincidence or do scammers have someone inside HMRC? Got a call about a car crash I was supposedly involved in. I don't even hold a driving licence. When I said maybe I was a passenger, I told them none of my family members drive, which is true. The woman on the phone was really rude.

Got a call from this number today (11:04 20/12/16), it’s one of several I don’t have saved and all show up as spam on those caller ID websites. Just blocked them all.

I've been inundated by a barrage of calls from various 0161 Manchester numbers, ringing my phone a staggering five times weekly for what feels like an eternity, and despite my consistent refusal to pick up. It's ever so frustrating! I keep blocking them, only for yet another to pop up. Bloody annoying! I have absolutely no ties to Manchester, so there's no way any of these calls could be anything of significance. To top it off, they never bother to leave a voicemail! My advice? Best to ignore them unless you’ve got mates over that way. Cheers, Mike.
