Got a call from some Emissions Advisory Service out of nowhere - must be from abroad. I’d just turned on my radio and after about a minute and a second of it playing, they cut the call. It was the first time this dodgy-looking number ever buzzed me. Total scam, avoid!

Got repeated calls from this number and three others that were almost identical except for one or two digits. They all showed up as potential spam, so I didn’t hesitate to block them immediately. After reading these reviews, I’m really happy I chose to block them right off the bat.

01613941929 I only picked up because I was waiting for a call. A bloke called "Jordan" asked if I was who he thought I was. I kept quiet and asked what the call was about. He said something about an "emissions advice centre". I told him to take me off their list, but he didn’t say a word back before just hanging up. This number seems sketchy, not just annoying spam. People have said it’s pretending to be loads of different companies, which makes me think it could be a proper scam.

Got a call earlier from someone called ‘Mark’ claiming to be from ‘Ideal Claims’. He said I'd signed up with them before about PPI refunds, which isn’t true as I handled that on my own ages ago. He then went on about some new law that meant I could get more money back. When I said I wasn’t interested in dealing with strangers who cold call, he got rude and just ended the call. I got a call from someone saying they were called Ideal Claim about a tax refund for PPI that HMRC took when I got my PPI money back from the bank. But I’ve tried searching for them online and can’t find any info at all. Feels a bit dodgy to me.

Had two calls from this number in as many days, claiming they can help me reclaim PPI tax money supposedly kept by HMRC. They had my name and address from the electoral register and asked for my email too. I told them to jog on and if there’s any money to be paid, just send a cheque by post since they already know where I live. (Not holding my breath!) Best thing to do is just block the number.

I saw this number pop up loads recently, it was pretty much the same except the final two digits were different. It flagged as fraud on my phone, so I just ignored it and didn’t bother picking up.

Got a call from 0161 394 1929, I picked up but it was dead quiet at first. Then a guy with a South African accent asked for me by my maiden name, which I haven’t gone by in almost two decades. Told him he must have the wrong person. He asked if I knew the person he was after, so I just nodded without revealing it was me. When he wondered if that person was around, I said no. After that, he said alright and ended the call. Definitely not legit - he didn’t say which company he was from or anything. Just another scammer trying to trick me somehow.

I got a reply from DIDWW after I reported the issue. They confirmed they received my complaint and carried out an internal review.
