total scam!!! they said they was from the council housing repairs but when i asked why they were ringing from manchester and i dont live there, they just ended the call on me.

Some bloke rang me asking if I was having any trouble with my home, like mould or something. I said no, then he asked another question about housing issues but I missed it a bit, so I just said no again. He then wished me a nice evening and ended the call. He seemed quite polite, so I wasn’t sure if it was legit. But after seeing what others have said on here, I’m gonna block and report the number just to be safe.

Scam for sure, really hard to get what the caller was saying with their thick foreign accent, claiming they could help with my debts (which I dont have). I ended the call, but they rang straight back within seconds. Funny enough, it was just after I got a data breach alert from Samsung.

Got a call today from a number starting with 0161 (Manchester area), said they could assist with my debts. They used my first name, so they must’ve got my location too, probably why they used that local code. The accent was definitely Indian, so with the fake Manchester number and all, it really feels like a scam to me.

He said he'd talked to me back in July about PPI. Claimed they had a case for me but needed to check if I’d taken out Life Insurance as suggested. I’d had a call months before, dunno who it was or the firm. Wanted someone to ring me about the life cover I never got. Told him what he was saying was confusing and that the PPI deadline was long gone. Then he just cut the call.

I received a call from someone purporting to represent a PPI reclamation company, claiming they had successfully obtained £2000 from a previous bank account of mine. After numerous questions on my part, the conversation veered into a sales pitch for life insurance, which they suggested was necessary for some kind of fee reduction scheme. When I mentioned that I preferred to source my own life insurance, the caller quickly resorted to foul language and quite the tirade before abruptly ending the call. Quite the cowardly display from such a 'professional'. I wouldn’t mind if they decided to ring me again!

Just got a call from them claiming I have a cheque for £3,000 about a claim I supposedly made a couple months back. They already had my name and address, which was quite creepy. Then they tried asking for my bank details. Definitely a scam, best to avoid picking up.

Got a call from a woman with a strong Asian accent not long ago, she could only manage to say my first name. She claimed there was a cheque waiting for me related to PPI and said it'd be sent within two to three weeks. I told her I wasn’t interested and asked her to remove my details from their system and to stop calling me. I doubt they’ll listen though. Definitely a scam call.

I dont normally answer calls from weird numbers, especially at odd hours, but today I picked up by mistake. The bloke on the other end was mumbling something about ppi and a cheque he claimed to send me, but what really freaked me out was that he already knew my address! How on earth do these scammers get hold of such personal details? I told him I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away. Proper creepy stuff.

Got a call from a company (person with an Asian accent) on this number claiming I had a PPI claim from Lloyds worth over £3000. I told them to send whatever they had straight away, as I've never paid PPI and knew this was a scam. They asked for my age, if I’d ever been bankrupt, and if I have any insurance before they could send it. I refused to give any of that info, saying it wasn’t necessary. They then said they couldn’t send the cheque without it, as it was their policy. I just told them I didn’t believe a word and they could keep their cheque for all I cared.

This call is definitely a scam, they probably use the money for some nasty illegal stuff. Being Asian doesn’t mean much but sadly it could involve things like child abuse and even murder. Better to report these people and block them fast. Hope they get what’s coming to them.

claims advisory group called me too, saying the government will deduct a charge from the £2000 payout I supposedly should get. but I've only had life insurance for 3 months so this fee doesn't apply. I told the guy I'd already heard that and the financial ombudsman said it was nonsense, then he just cut me off!

Got a call saying i owed over £3000 in ppi, but if i didnt confirm any savings, id only get like £1200 cause the govt would take taxes out. He was going on about paying 39% plus vat and stuff. Then told me to just send a cheque for whatever and then he hung up on me.
